MIDDAY ROUNDUP

@ 11:54 am by Michael O'Brien

Sen. Joe Lieberman’s (I-Conn.) political troubles are cause for delight among liberal bloggers today, while conservatives eulogize conservative activist Paul Weyrich, who died this morning. Also, the donor list released by the Clinton Foundation raises eyebrows by bloggers of different stripes.

Lieberman’s constituents are still peeved over his recent actions, opinion polls show, and will have a lot of ground to make up if he runs in 2012, Washington Monthly’s Steve Benen argues, while chastizing Connecticut state Senators’ sending Lieberman a stern letter as admonishment. Lieberman’s argument that the Democratic Party should become more centrist is off-base when taking into account this years election cycle and his own poll, Jed L writes at Daily Kos.

Weyrich was a man of principle who faught with unbelievable passion for the causes in which he believed, Townhall’s Jonathan Garthwaite blogs. Weyrich created institutions and networks that incubated and advanced the conservative movement, Grover Norquist remembers at The Corner. Weyrich was a friend to many within the Heritage Foundation, over which he once presided, and will be missed, Heritage’s Rob Bluey says at The Foundry.

The list of the supporters of Bill Clinton’s foundation and presidential library seems a little late-coming, given the full disclosure upon which Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s (D-N.Y.) nomination as Secretary of State was conditioned, Political Machine’s Liza Porteus Viana declares. The big news in the donor list is not only how many foreign entities have forked over cash, but how many of the business leaders Hillary Clinton railed against on the campaign trail have contributed, Michelle Malkin asserts.
