Obama Team Quiets Talk About Pritzker, Napolitano

@ 12:57 pm by Walter Alarkon

Penny Pritzker, the chief fundraiser for President-elect Obama's campaign, won't serve as Commerce Secretary, contrary to prior reports, according to a senior Obama official who spoke to The Swamp.

"Penny Pritzker ultimately has decided she does not want to do the Commerce thing," the source said.

CNN had reported that Pritzker was the top choice for the post and that Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano (D) was the top choice to head the Homeland Security Department.

The Obama official, however, said that Napolitano's appointment isn't a done deal.

"I expect Napolitano will end up in the cabinet," the official told The Swamp. "But whether she ends up where the speculation is (has her), I don't know."

  1. The only upside of this election is that we in AZ will finally be rid of J NO. I predict that she will not do well at Homeland Security.

There are many downsides to this election, however; the fact she may be going to Homeland leads the list. For the nations sake I hope she does better then she did as governor.

  2. For the love of God, get this woman an Obama appointment so she gets the heck out of HERE! Give our state a fighting chance to get back on our feet. She makes our other lousy governors look great!

Isn't there some other place in the Cabinet where she can't do any more harm, though? Federal Dog Catcher?

  3. HA! Napolitano's name was floated by McCain people to rid McCain of his biggest threat in 2010. "'dat dog don't hunt"
