'Joe the Plumber' to Publish Book

@ 1:30 pm by Hill Staff

Joe "The Plumber" Wurzelbacher will publish a book just in time for the holiday season, a small publisher announced this week.

The book, "Joe the Plumber: Fighting for the American Dream," will be published December 1st, the New York Times reported.

The book will be published by PearlGate Publishing, a small group based in Texas, and cowritten with novelist Thomas N. Tabback.

“They don’t need the help,” Wurzelbacher said of the larger, more mainstream publishers with which he did not sign. “They are already rich. So that’s spreading the wealth to me.”

The Hill welcomes comment from anyone and will almost always post it whether it is favorable or critical, as long as it is substantive and advances debate.
  1. I would suggest Joe the Plumber's book be given to every Congressman and Senator and both Parties should provide a copy to their members as a Christmas gift. This guy has more common sense than all of the above, combined.

  2. You're kidding right? This guy is a plumber. I want to hear advice from this guy on where to take this country like I want to go to him for advice on medicine. He simply doesn't have the knowledge, nor the intelligence to make a good critique of this nation.

Then again, this is a nation where we love stupidity, superstition, and hate science.

  3. No, you're kidding, right? We elected a socialist as President of the United States, with ZERO executive experience, and a proven history of poor judgement. Kudos to Joe. Joe is more in touch with real Americans that Barack.

  4. Xeke and Kathleen,

You gotta be kidding me. Even Shepard Smith (on Fox News!) thinks Joe the Plumber is an idiot. The right can do better. Smarter than Barack? Please! One was a law professor, lawyer, and legislator. The other was a plumber. I wouldn't hire Barack to fix a leak, and I DEFINITELY wouldn't hire Joe to fix a far-more-complicated thing like a government! Being a "stand-up guy" just isn't good enough — look at GWBush. A good guy, but he wasn't up to the hardest job in the world.

  5. Scott, you're kidding right? Joe the Plumber represents a part of America that has been too long missing from inside the beltway up here in DC. His infamous question was one on the minds of many small business owners across the country and he proved to be the only person who could ascertain what our great President-elect really believed. The man isn't running for president and he's as entitled to write a book about the future of American politics as any of the rest of us are. I feel confident he has a much better idea of what Americans really need than the law professor/ state legislator/ campaign manager does.
