Obama: McCain Campaign 'Just Making Stuff up'

@ 6:21 pm by Andy Barr

Barack Obama accused John McCain's campaign of  "just making stuff up" during a campaign stop Friday near Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Obama was continuing his assault on McCan campaign manager Rick Davis who has been one of the Illinois senator's top targets since telling the Washington Post earlier this week that the campaing is "not about issues" but rather the "composite view of what people take away from these candidates."

"When [Republicans] say this isn't about issues it's about personalities what they're really saying is 'we're going to try to scare people about Barack,' the Democratic presidential candidate said.

Obama said Republicans are "going to say that you know, 'maybe he's got Muslim connections or we're going to say that, you know, he hangs out with radicals or he’s not patriotic.' Just making stuff up."

"I mean I think I've got a pretty good personality! But that's not why I am running for president," the Illinois Democrat joked, adding "if you've got the kind of record they've got over the last eight years then, of course, you don't want to spend a lot of time talking about the issues."

  1. McCain IS and was lying at his speech at the convention. The media has already covered the things he said were lies. He's no maverick. He's a liar and a hypocrite. Those Republican's were very mean the other night….I guess they had nothing else better to say, but to attack Obama…how dare that Palin woman say things about Obama not being qualified as commander-in-chief, and about his community organizing. She has no idea what she's talking about. Just wait until it's her turn for some talking points. Hey Sarah, We are different in this part of the country……you need to be a little nicer.

  2. McCain/Palin insult and mock community organizers, groups like:
    Habitat for Humanity
    The Red Cross
    Hospice
    March of Dimes
Salvation Army (Like the bell ringers for instance)
    Easter Seals
    Volunteer Fire and rescue personel
    Goodwill
    Helping Hands
    Coastal Cleanup
    Meals on Wheels
And, Oh, yeh….All those Faith based initiatives.
Do you want a president that has so little respect for service work?

  3. To the democratic presidential nominees,Obama/
biden.how could you let them talk you into
choosing biden, and then your opponent come out with a woman that we haven't even heard of before.you need to open your eyes and think for your self.because your campaign managers are going to make you lose this election. can't you see that you are the one that started the Change ticket.now they've taken it as their right.
You need to open your mouth and tell the american people( that some of the best presidents
down through history have not fought in wars, and still governed our country and helped to keep
it the strong nation it is today. Sir:i don't know how the american women can look at this plain/bush/mccain clone/ and just give up on fairness/in healthcare/economy /our rights.
Please America!!! Don't let Goliathus win. Our
children are tired of fighting. let them come Home. Just because you were a prisoner of war
that does not Qualify you Mccain ,to govern this nation. we need to look into pass a bit more, to rectify the mistakes in the future.
