Rep. Bilirakis Wants Hamas TV Station and Satellite Providers Designated as Terrorist Groups

@ 4:23 pm by Walter Alarkon

Rep. Gus Bilirakis (R-Fla.) wants the president to classify a television station run by Hamas as a terrorist organization.

Bilirakis introduced a House resolution last week that condemns the incitement of violence by the station Al-Aqsa, which is broadcast out of the Gaza Strip and aired a puppet show in March that depicted the stabbing of the President of the United States. The bill calls on the president to list Al-Aqsa as a "specially designated global terrorist."

The resolution also mentioned instances of incitement of violence by the Lebanese Al-Manar, Iranian Al-Alam, Iraqi Al-Zawra and Iraqi Al-Rafidayn.

If it passes, the resolution would call on the president to designate as global terrorists satellite providers that carried stations with the the terror group status. The bill's text notes that an Egyptian state-run provider, NileSat, carries Al-Aqsa.

Bilirakis's bill has 23 co-sponsors, only one of which — Rep. Russ Carnahan (Mo.) — is a Democrat.

  1. Oh, I see. Makes sense to not spend tax dollars on the satellite TV garbage, I totally agree. For Gus it must be so he can waste it on others like spamming snail mail.

I received some Bilirakis literature recently in the mail. In this literature he emphasizes cutting tax dollar waste. Then when you look at the fine print on this high dollar piece of mail, you find a fine print statement that reads, "This mailing was prepared, published and mailed at taxpayer expense."

When I read this I felt very angry that a man with a million dollar plus warchest has to dip into our tax dollars to finance his print mail campaign. To have a statement about cutting tax dollar waste on the same document that was paid for with tax dollars while having more than enough campaign funding for this type of advertising is out-freakin-rageous! Hypocracy to the infinite power. How dare this man squander our tax dollars on his advertising, while at the same time talk about not wasting tax dollars.

It is exactly this sort of oxymoronic behavior that will end the Bilirakis dynasty in Congress. His father did nothing for us, and Gus does nothing for us. When will people wake up and elect a real candidate? When will people demand limitations on how these people can abuse their positions?

I could go on with more examples of Gus Bilirakis' hypocracy, but I'll save that for later.

Maybe we should be taking a serious look at one of the Independent Candidates like John Kalimnios or Richard Emmons.
