DAY'S END ROUNDUP

@ 6:23 pm by Andy Barr

Sen. Jim Webb (D-Va.) and John McCain are in a war of words Tuesday afternoon after Webb said McCain needs to “calm down” on mentioning his military record. Meanwhile, McCain’s offensive against Barack Obama on judges and Alec Baldwin’s less-famous actor brother saying he’d leave the country if Obama becomes president are also topics being discussed.

The McCain camp is lashing out at Webb, accusing the Virginia senator of coordinating the attack with the Obama campaign, TPM’s Greg Sargent writes. Following the McCain campaign statement, Webb’s camp clarified the remark saying Webb was not targeting Webb’s military service, Sam Stein points out.

McCain tried to pick a fight with Obama on judges in front of the National Sheriffs’ Association by saying Obama would appoint judges that would restrict law enforcement, The Trail writes. RedState sides with McCain pointing out that while Obama has sided with McCain on recent decisions, he has said that if elected he appoint justices in the mold of the Court’s three most liberal members.

Actor Stephen Baldwin is promising to leave the country if Obama is elected, Politicker reports. Hot Air's Allahpundit thinks Stephen was poking fun at a similar statement his more famous brother Alec made and asks if he really qualifies as a “celebrity” endorsement for McCain.
