Obama Jokes if Congress Doesn't Pass Healthcare Bill 'I'll Whup 'Em'

@ 4:50 pm by Andy Barr

From CNN:

An elderly African-American man presented [Barack] Obama, the first African-American to secure the nomination of a major party, with a gift. Charles Edwards, who told Obama he was 95 years old, gave Obama a long maple walking stick.

"It's beautiful," Obama told Edwards. "And, if members of Congress don't pass my health care bill, I'm ready," Obama said wielding the stick as supporters laughed and cheered.

"I'll whup 'em," he joked. "They better not mess with me. I'll have that stick."

  1. Prepare for socialism nationalized from a leader who will "bully" those who oppose him. And prepare for forced labor (i.e. higher taxes) to pay for what the government wants you to have. Sounds like the worst combination of slavery, socialism, and Marxism. This is NOT my America!!

  2. How is Tinkerbell going to "whup" anyone?

  3. Obama intends to nationalize Health Care just like Hillary tried to. When the Government nationalizes something (like Stalin did with Soviet agriculture in the 1930's) the government simply announces that it now OWNS a group of people and property. I know Obama plans to announce his ownership of me as a physician; that's what his "Health Care Reform" is, nothing less. Obama and Hillary rely on the innumerable useful idiots who are too uneducated and inexperienced to look beneath Obama's rhetoric from a perspective informed by a knowledge of Human History and Psychology. Perhaps they have not worked in the Federal Government like I have. If Obama achieves his goal I will cease practicing medicine: I will not be Nationalized by anyone.

  5. Let's face it, health care is half-socialized already. Insurance agents decide which doctors & treatments are covered. Uninsured citizens who cannot pay, show up at emergency rooms and trauma centers and get "free" treatment. We already pay for this. We have a patchwork system of socialized medical treatment already, so why not require everyone to pay a standard insurance premium, use government clout to negotiate better prices, and get on with it? At the very least let's even out the premiums for people who can't buy affordable insurance. If everyone is supposed to pay for universal medical care, make that payment visibly separate from the ordinary tax bill (so we don't forget is it 'we the people' who really pay).

  9. oh my God, where do some of these people come from? Lighten up…it was a damned joke! Though, given the opportunity there are several people in government that need to have a face to face introduction with a stick.
