MIDDAY BLOG ROUNDUP

@ 1:09 pm by Chris Good

Hillary Clinton has crossed the line by touting her support from whites, bloggers are saying today, while others think Clinton’s critics are too racially sensitive.

By telling USA Today that Barack Obama struggles with white voters, Clinton has outdone herself, writes Andrew Sullivan, an Obama supporter. AMERICABLOG’s John Aravosis says black voters should never support Clinton again. But Jerome Armstrong calls the attacks a “lame stretch,” as Clinton cited an AP story about voting demographics.

Now that she is all but down and out, Barack Obama can adopt a new strategy, The Huffington Post says: ignore her.

The Plank looks ahead to an Obama-McCain matchup, and conservatives aren’t letting John McCain off the hook yet. Before McCain gives a major speech on climate change, Mark Levin warns, he should get his facts straight and consult the latest science, which, according to Levin, says global warming may stop. Michelle Malkin, meanwhile, says addressing the liberal, anti-border security National Council of La Raza is a bad idea.

Bloggers continue to doubt House Republican’s chances in November. RedState’s Erick Erickson says House Minority Leader John Boehner’s (R-Ohio) new committee—which is almost the same as his old committee—won’t help the GOP’s election woes. Erickson says trouble looms if the GOP won’t turn its back on corrupt members who jeopardize the party’s chances.
